We are the Valley’s oldest environmental organization formed in 1972 to work on replacing the planning vision of the time that would have destroyed our Valley’s ridges and covered our uplands and meadows with homes and countless roads to serve 20,000 people – 10 times the prevailing population.
A passionate, committed group of volunteers stepped up and spent five years developing the Valley’s first Community Plan. It was adopted in 1977 and preserves the Valley of that time to what you see and experience today. This Plan along with strengthening amendments is the public document — the tool — that guides our successful and ongoing work.
We invite you to share in our vision, enthusiasm and expertise. Join us in protecting and improving our environment for the Valley’s current and future citizens, animals and plant life.
